Sharon Dahme is the director of the San Geronimo Childcare Center and the Pre-K (Redbirds) teacher. She has worked with children for over 35 years. After completing Early Childhood Education at the College of Marin, Sharon ran her own Family Daycare Center in her home for 10 years. Sharon taught at the San Geronimo Childcare Center for 9 years before becoming Director in 2001. She is committed to the Play-based style of learning that blends both child-directed and teacher-directed activities that include art, stories, dramatic play, large motor activities and hands-on natural science. She is the mother of three adult children and a longtime resident the San Geronimo Valley and Marin.
Bernice West has been a co-teacher at SGCC in all three programs. She has worked with children for over 45 years; assisting in her mother’s home day care, teaching elementary school, and then preschool and childcare. Bernice has a special fondness for early childhood development and the concepts of learning through play, children exploring their environments, and supporting children’s cultivation of language. She has a BA in liberal studies, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and additional ECE credits from the College of Marin. Bernice is the mother of 2 teenage daughters and has lived in Lagunitas for over 20 years. When not at SGCC, she enjoys time with her family, reading, walking, and gardening.
Margaret Krauss joined the school as a full time teacher in 2002 and has taught in all three programs. She is currently a part-time teacher and regular substitute.
Margaret has a California State Early Childhood Education Teaching Credential from Sonoma State University, and Waldorf experience and training. She was born and raised in Marin, has four adult children, six grandchildren, and has lived and taught in Australia and Brazil.
Angelina Papia is the 3-4’s (Bluebirds) teacher at SGCC. She has worked with children for over 20 years as a nanny, childcare provider, First Five Kindergarten Readiness teacher, and preschool teacher. She received her Early Childhood Education training from the College of Marin and is working to complete a Bachelor degree. Ang is the mother of two school-age sons, Dylan and Miles. Raised in the San Geronimo Valley, she has a deep connection to the community and passion for teaching young children.
Cindy Weller has been the lead teacher in the Toddler Program since June 2017. She is passionate about early childhood education, and believes strongly in the power of play, and spending time in the outdoors. Cindy has been working with children in a variety of settings for over twenty years. Her experience ranges from humanitarian work, behavioral coaching, homeschooling, nannying, and of course teaching throughout Sonoma and Marin County. Cindy is a certified Early Childhood Educator and holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. She lives in Forest Knolls with her husband and two teenage boys.
